Chapter Three : Destroyed
"Three wishes?" repeated TJ. "What can we do with three wishes?"
"I'm not sure, but Tiara . . . the older one, didn't say that we neededto decide right now," replied Ashley. "After all, we should wish for things that we all want."
"You're right Ash, I say we should go to the Youth Center and grab something to eat. Anyone with me?" asked Cassie.
"Me!" cried everyone at once.
"Silly rangers," a voice from the shadows whispered as she watched the rangers teleport back to earth. "They don't know what they're in for."
"Hey Cass, I wonder if Brendan's still there," Ashley whispered toher best friend.
"I doubt it, he had to leave over an hour ago. I don't think he'd come back just to see me," the pink ranger assured Ashley as they walked intot he newly built Youth Center.
"Hey Richie," TJ greeted the owner of the place. "What's going on here?" he asked looking at the floor where a class was taking place.
"This new class started today," replied Richie as he polished a glass.
"Really? What kind of class?"
"I heard that the leader of this class goes to Silver Knight Academy, and he's filling in for a teacher that had gotten sick. Apparently, the school is big on fighting techniques," he explained. "Someone told me that this class was for karate."
"Cassie, isn't that Brendan?" asked Ashley as she sat at a table.
"Where?" she jumped. "Leading the class," Ashley pointed out to the pink astro.
"Ohmigod! That is Brendan," exclaimed Cassie. "That must be his sister."
"Oh, she's so cute!" A little girl dressed in a blue denim overall-dress and a white shirt. Her thin blonde, almost silverish, hair was tied up in two tiny pigtails with blue ribbons. She had small Mary Jane style shoes on her tiny feet, but one thing struck Cassie. She reminded her of Tiara, only because she held a similar toy. Only hers was a white elephant with a blue stomach.
"Okay you guys," announced Brendan. "Good work out today,we'll meet here tomorrow same time tomorrow. Class dismissed." Brendan walked over to the little girl sitting on the bench.
"Go talk to him Cass," encouraged Ashley.
"Okay," she replied as she started for Brendan and the little girl. "Hey, Brendan."
"Hey, when did you get here? I didn't see you come in," he said as he wiped the sweat off his brow with a blue towel.
"Me and my friends just came in a minute ago. I hope you don't mind that we were watching your class," she apologized.
"That's alright, it's not really my class. I'm just filling in for one of the instructors at my school," he explained to the Asian girl.
"Oh yeah, this is my sister," he introduced as he lifted her to stand on the bench. He placed his hands on his hips so she wouldn't fall. "Her name is Tamira. Tamira this is Cassie." The toddler giggled and hid behind her white elephant.
"She's always like this with strangers." He turned to Tamira."Aren't you going to say hi?"
"Hi T'assie," she giggled again. The pink astro smiled.
"She's so adorable. How old is she?" she asked. "She's going to be three in two months."
"Really? She seems older than that." Brendan looked at her sister.
"You're not the only person to say that," he said as he tickled the toddler. "Right?" Tamira laughed and quickly gave her big brother a hug around the neck.
"So where are you off to now?" Cassie questioned Brendan as he stood up with his gym bag and Tamira both in her arms.
"I promised Tammi we'd go to the park after my practice," he explained.
"Care to join us?" Brendan offered.
"Sure, just let me tell my friends."
"Hey Ash, where'd Cassie go?" asked TJ as he brought over a tray of food.
"She went with Brendan and his sister to the park, she said she'll meet us later." Just at that moment a gigantic earthquake shook the earth.
"What on earth was that!" exclaimed Carlos as he regained his balance. Andros glared around the Youth Center, looking for anything suspicious.
"I don't know, but we should find out." The other light star rangers nodded, and raced out of the Youth Center into an open field. As they were about to teleport to the megaship, they found a gigantic space ship burning in flames. The four rangers took a few moments to realize what was burning.
"The megaship. . . ." Trailed Andros, ". . . is destroyed," watching his only home burn into flames.
