Author Note: Behold ye evil readers do, this story holds a scare or two, so those of you who have weak hearts, don't read this, there's nasty parts. A story occurring, on all hallows eve, shall be the set for my Rangers to grieve. When terrible demons, and those hell spawned, claim the souls of those forelorned.

Hell's Fury 2: Hell Hath No Fury Like a Ranger Scorned

Kane arrived at his destination. He wasn't quite sure where. It could have been midnight or midday, he wasn't sure. Thick black clouds filled the sky and lightning crackled between them. Ahead of him, he could see a large crack in the ground, an eerie red light glowing from within it. Everything took on the reddish tint, as it was the only source of light available. The sun didn't have a chance of penetrating the ominous looking clouds.

"Okay, so I just have to get a blast of energy down into that crack, shouldn't be too hard! And where's these daemons Lee was talking about?" Kane asked nobody in particular.

No sooner had he said it; several large creatures emerged from the rift. "I guess that'll be them!" Kane realizing the obvious fact that tempting fate like that always backfired.

Most of the monsters were Zord sized, some were a bit bigger, and others were smaller. The one that appeared to be leader was a massive red humanoid shaped beast. It was near enough a stereotypical daemon, right from the hoofed feet and goat-type legs, right to the horns and forked tail.

"Man, what next? A Trident!" Kane joked. Again he realized it might just be better for his health if he didn't say anything, as a massive trident appeared in the Daemon's hand.

The other monsters were all as terrifying, one was a large two-headed serpent, near enough three hundred feet long in total, although for the moment it just floated round in the air making it look much smaller. It had horns that curved back down the shape of its heads and tough looking blue scales along the entire length of its body. Another daemon appeared to be some kind of Minotaur. Its fur-coated legs looked as powerful as its bulging biceps. Its dark eyes glowed red as it saw Kane.

"Okay, time to stop these things!" Kane said quickly. "Samurai Shadow!" Instantly, his Samurai Zord appeared at his side, Dark Laser Saber already drawn. With a mental command he was teleported up into the control deck. Running towards the Daemons, Samurai Shadow held back the Laser Saber, then swung it forward at the serpent. It never made contact, for the lead Daemon held its trident in the path of his weapon, blocking it perfectly. Kane didn't let this stop him. Using the Zord's other fist to knock the trident aside, then kicking the Daemon away with one foot; he swung the Saber again. This time it struck into the side of the Serpent's neck (if it really had a neck, it was more like just below the head.) The head crashed to the ground and seemed to dissolve away to nothing. The body fell limp and Kane turned his attention to the other two.

During the previous struggle, the Minotaur had taken the chance to get quite a distance away. Scuffing one hoof on the ground, it prepared to charge at the large machine. Pointing its head at Kane, horns forward, it started.

"Oh you wanna play chicken?" Kane asked. "Why not!" He started his Zord running at its top speed. The two gargantuans got closer and closer, Kane knew who would benefit most from a head on collision… and it wasn't himself! Just at the last second, he stepped aside and swiped the Laser Saber into the Minotaur's path. The Daemon realized it had been tricked, but it was too late, it struck into the Zord's weapon, which cut deep into its stomach. It collapsed to the ground and seemed to liquidize. The liquid worked its way along the ground and down into the crevice.

"Guess I'm the chicken!" Kane grinned. "Okay, two down, one to go!" He turned his Zord and headed back to the demon-like creature.


The Daemon Lucy faced was an enormous Spider, it's eight legs looked powerful and ended with razor sharp spikes. It's exo-skeleton was as strong as any man made armor, if not stronger, and the pincers at its mouth could crush even the toughest of creations. The six eyes placed unevenly across its face glowed an eerie reddish-blue.

It was quite suiting that she was using her Samurai scorpion, for in nature, the Scorpion is the natural predator of the Spider, however, this Spider had every intention of fighting back… and winning! It jumped towards Lucy's Zord but by the time it got there, the monstrous machine had jumped clear. Both of them had several strong legs that could jump it hundreds of feet into the air. The Scorpion and spider were fairly even matched in size and strength, but Lucy still had one advantage, the claws. As the Daemon jumped at her once again, she made her Zord hold its claws in the air. She caught the monster and held it there in the air.

The tail of the Scorpion lashed forward, stabbing into the spider's body. It repeated the moves a few times, then pulled away far enough to fire a laser at it. The spider had been quite badly hurt by the attack, but it still squirmed to get free. Managing to point its thorax at the machine, it fired a string of web. It hit the Scorpion Zord in the face, blocking Lucy's vision. It took this as its chance. Disoriented, the Samurai Zord started to lose its grip on the daemon, allowing it to break free.

Scuttering further away, the Spider turned and fired a few more strands of web at Lucy's temporarily blinded Zord. The first two blasts hit a claw each, sticking them closed. The next three shots hit a leg each. Although three of legs remained free, it was immobilized enough to let the Spider close in.

"What's going on?" Lucy called out, still unable to see what was going on. Suddenly she felt the whole Zord shake. Alarms went off all over the cockpit and the computer showed that the Zord's body was taking extensive damage. She knew the Spider had to be on top of her, biting at the main body of the vehicle.

Lucy teleported out of her Samurai Zord and saw the Daemon was doing exactly what she had suspected. Bringing out the Yellow Shinobi gem, she called out, "Shinobi Sun Striker!" The black clouds parted and the Sun seemed to flare for a second, then a large bird appeared to fly from it. It's large yellow wings flapped gracefully as it soared down towards the battle zone. It's glittering tail left a rainbow behind it as it flew.

Activating her teleporter, Lucy appeared inside the control deck of the Shinobi Zord. Swooping down close to her Samurai Zord and the Spider Daemon that was still attacking it, she gave a command. "Sand Storm!" she commanded. The Phoenix's wings started flapping rapidly, whipping up a cloud of sand and rocks. With a screech from its beak, the Phoenix sent the tornado of debris flying towards the Spider.

As the attack hit, the Daemon fell to the ground, several holes punctured into its exo-skeleton by the high-speed rubble. It landed on its back, the eight powerful legs waving wildly in the air for a moment, and then it liquidized and slithered back down into the rift.

"Yes, now to close that rift!" Lucy called out. Setting the commands in the Shinobi Zord, she teleported back to her Scorpion. She checked for damage. Fortunately it had been mainly superficial damage. Most of the vital systems were still functioning so she headed for the gateway.

"Tail Laser!" she called out. The tail of her Zord raised and fired, at the same time the Phoenix Zord released a blast of Yellow energy from its beak. The two powerful shots sped into the rift. For a moment it appeared like nothing was going to happen, then the red light brightened and an explosion blew from the crevice. The two Zords were sent flying through the air and landed together several hundred feet away.

Getting the Scorpion back on its feet, Lucy looked over at where the rift had been. There was a massive crater, but the rift was sealed.

"Yes, I just hope the others are having as much luck!" Lucy said excitedly.


Garrison wasn't used to this type of fighting. He had always fought against Zords, but now he was piloting one. Sean's Samurai Senturion was a powerful machine. Being a machine himself, Garrison was truly able to appreciate all its finer points. Really, the only major difference between Garrison and the Zord was sentience. Garrison had it, the Zord did not and at the moment, that put him as the better fighter.

He was facing two Daemons; one was a tall humanoid shaped monster. It had a green warty face with sharp features and large pointed ears. It was quite agile and moved about quickly. At its side was a small pouch, which seemed to contain all types of objects useful to it in battle. It was dressed in just a tunic and pants of a deeper green than his skin. It must have been some kind of Goblin. To his side, at least Garrison assumed it was a he, was a much smaller creature. It looked to be some kind of bat. Its body was a deep red and had a small mouth with several long sharp looking teeth. The ends of its wings, and its feet were tipped with long claws that were either naturally the same color as his skin, or they were blood stained. Garrison knew which one was more likely.

Garrison waited for them to make the first move, which didn't take long. The Goblin reached into the pouch and pulled out several small metal discs. Throwing all of them at once, they soared through the air towards the large golden Zord. Mid-flight, small spikes folded out from the edges of it. Garrison attempted to make the Senturion Zord move out of the way, but he was too slow. All of them struck the Zord in the chest resulting in a shower of sparks.

"You'll pay for that!" Garrison called out. "Fireball Attack!" he called out. He had been informed quickly before they left of all the Zords' attacks. The Zord moved its hands in a circular motion, then brought them together in front of its chest. A ball of Golden fire began to form between them and as soon as it was at full size, the Senturion thrust its hands forward, flinging the ball of fire at the Goblin. He tried to move away, but the fireball homed in on him and struck him hard in the back.

Before the Goblin had even hit the floor, the Bat had flown in towards Garrison's Zord and scratched at it several times. The first few only scratched the armor, but the last two cut right through and into the Zords' circuitry.

"Weapon Systems down! Auto repair will be complete in three point five minutes." the computer called out to Garrison.

"I suppose I'd better use this thing!" Garrison said as he raised the Shinobi Gem from where he had placed it on the console. "Now what was the command again? Oh yeah… Shinobi Fire Knight!"

The Golden Shinobi Gem vanished from his hand and teleported across to the horizon, where a fire seemed to appear. As the fire got closer, Garrison saw that the fire was actually the Lion Zord's flaming mane. Samurai Senturion took to the air and landed on the Shinobi Zord's back.

"Repairs complete!" the computer commented.

"Okay, Senturion Sword!" Garrison commanded. The large golden Long Sword appeared ready for action. "Charge!" he called out. The Shinobi Zord ran along at full speed, the Samurai Zord on top of it preparing to strike. As the two Zords passed the Daemons then turned and ran back, Garrison swiped the sword twice at each of them.

The Bat fell to the ground, defeated. It changed into liquid form and drained down into the large crack in the ground. The Goblin, however, was still standing. "Okay, Fire Knight, convert to Warrior Mode!" Garrison ordered through his Zord's communication console.

The Lion began to change, stretching back to stand on its hind legs, which straightened out into a more humanoid position. The large paws folded inside its front legs as hands emerged from the other side. Finally, its head twisted round, the Lion head hiding inside its chest while a humanoid head took its place on top of the broad shoulders.

The Shinobi Zord was on automatic, so it wasted no time in bringing out its weapon. It stood there with some kind of handle held out in front of it. Without warning, Golden Flame emerged from both ends, extending into the shape of a long staff. Still flaming, the Lion Zord swiped its weapon at the Goblin at the same time as Garrison attacked with the Senturion Sword.

In a blood-curdling scream, the Goblin collapsed to the ground, sliced into several pieces. Within seconds he had joined the Bat down in the crevice. All that remained to be done now was to seal the rift. A double fireball attack from the two Zords soon had the gateway sealed.

"Job finished. I gotta get me one of these Zords!" Garrison said cheerfully.


London, England, or at least the remains of it. The once proud capital of a small country had been thrown into ruins as one of the first Cities attacked on Ultima's arrival. Now, what remained was facing destruction too. Cutting through half the City was a large break in the ground with an evil red glow coming forth.

Wandering around the City was two near identical Daemons. They both looked near enough human, especially their faces. The first had eyes that glowed blue; the second had green, which was the only major difference. Both wore strong chain-mail armor that was a usual steely tone, decorated here and there with strips of Green and Blue. Both also held Broad swords in their hands and a shield attached to their left arms.

They were quite happily finishing off the Houses of Parliament when a flash of White filled the City. Floating eerily, a couple of hundred feet above City was a figure clad in White.

"I am the White Ultra Samurai, and you…" he started, "…are going straight back to Hell!" The two daemons seemed to laugh. They must have been several thousand times the size of the White Samurai, and therefore saw him as no threat to them. Ignoring his warning, they went back to destroying the buildings.

The Daemon with the blue eyes suddenly wondered what was going on. One minute he had been down on the ground, smashing a large building, the next he was floating up in the air. "Hey, whadda you think you're doing up there? Get down here and finish the job!" Green called out. He reached up and tried to pull his partner down to the ground, but he wouldn't move.

Before Green knew what was happening, he was floating alongside Blue. They floated quite a distance apart, then started moving rapidly towards each other. They collided at quite a high speed, heads first, then moved back apart again. The White Ultra Samurai repeated the move over and over again until the two Daemons' heads were no more than a bloody pulp. Removing all his influence over them, Matt let the two monsters crash to the ground. He didn't even watch to see what happened next, for he never got the chance.

There was a low rumbling from the ground for a few moments, then a loud explosion as the Earth opened up. A Giant Worm of some kind leapt from the ground, its sharp mouthpieces flailing wildly as it soared towards the levitating Ranger. Even with the ability to move at the speed of thought, he couldn't get out of the way. The worm passed over him and started falling to the ground, with Matt trapped underneath. The several hundred ton worm squashed the being that had finished its companions with just a slightest thought, into the ground.

Starting a new tunnel, it headed back down into the Earth thinking itself victorious, but a blast of white energy soon proved it wrong. Matt lay in the crater caused by the giant worm, partially unconscious, but not particularly hurt. His entire body glowed with a brilliant white light. Normally controlled by the Ranger mind, the Ultra Samurai Power was monumental, but with the mind unconscious and the Power still functioning, well, it was a recipe for destruction. The Power took control, determined to finish the task set to it. The White Ranger flew into the air, looked round and spotted the tunnel that the worm had just made. It headed straight for it, in hot pursuit of his would-be killer. R


Having sealed her own rift, Louise had teleported to Niko's location after he called for help. When she got there, both the Samurai Star and Shinobi Star Fighter were out of action. When Niko had tried to use the Samurai Star's energy rope to tie up the Daemons, it had used the Zords own weapon against it. Now both of the Silver Zords were bound up on the ground, unable to move.

"Need a hand?" Louise asked through the communicator. Niko had virtually lost all hope. After being grounded, he thought he would be able to get his Zords free, but when he was unable, he near enough gave up. But seeing Samurai Scorcher, the wingless red dragon bounding along from the horizon, and Shinobi destruction, the massive winged dragon swooping in above it, would have been enough to inspire anyone!

"Always welcome!" Niko replied.

While Shinobi Destruction headed in to occupy the Daemons, Samurai Scorcher reared up on its hind legs and used its front claws to tear away the energy rope. Immediately the Samurai Star took to the sky and the Silver clad Cyclops, Shinobi Star Fighter, got back to its feet.

"Okay, time for a rematch!" Niko called out. The four Zords regrouped and examined the enemy. The main Daemon appeared to be some kind of trainer, for he held a whip in one hand, which he used to command the animals accompanying him. To his right was a large wolf. Its deep blue fur looked near enough black in the red light shed by the rift and as with most of the Daemons, it had sharp claws and vicious mouth that looked like it had already torn its fair share of flesh. To the left was a Sabertooth tiger. The fur across its back was a pale yellow and black stripe, but further down its body it changed to just pure yellow. The two massive teeth in its mouth gleamed a pearly white and looked more than ready to tear into the Zords. Finally, completing the menagerie was a Hawk, which flew randomly above the group.

"Okay, Niko, you take out the Hawk, we'll send the Shinobi Zords to fight the wolf and tiger, and I'll take the lead one!" Louise ordered.

Niko didn't respond. He was immediately on his way toward the Hawk. He had already lost one advantage. In the dim light of the battlefield, the silver hull of his ship could reflect little light. In normal sunlight it would reflect and magnify the light so much that it would blind his enemies, but that was not the case this time.

The Hawk had no problem seeing him and took the first attack. It flew at him and moved aside just at the last moment, passing over the top of the Zord. As it went it dug its claws into the hull and shred the whole length of the Samurai Zord. Niko decided to try the move that had, last time, caused his near defeat, but that was when all four of the Daemons faced him. Now it was just the one.

"Energy Rope!" he commanded. From the rear cannon of the ship a rope of pure energy shot out and wrapped itself around the body of the Daemon. The wings weren't caught so it managed to stay in the air, although its range now drastically minimized.

"Electrify!" was Niko's next command. Jolts of electricity shot along the rope and struck the bird. Letting out a series of screeches and calls, the bird was finished. Charred and smoking, it fell to the ground. "Yes! One down, three to go!"

The Samurai Scorcher and Star Fighter Zords on autopilot were making short work of the two Daemon predators. Working together, they had managed to wear down the two creatures and were just about ready to finish them off. A blast of energy emerged from the Shinobi Zord's star shape upon its chest and combined with an explosion of fire from Samurai Scorcher's mouth. Shooting along together, the laser and fire hit the Daemons and they liquidized instantly.

"Just you and me now!" Louise smiled, almost pitying the Daemon. Shinobi Destruction was by far the most powerful non-gestalt Zord. "Destruction Wave!" she commanded, instantly going for one of the most powerful attacks.

The massive wings of the Dragon folded forward, until the tips just crossed each other. They began to glow bright red and started shaking slightly. After a few moments, they were flung apart, releasing the red energy in the form of a wave. It didn't move particularly fast, but everything in its way was completely obliterated, including the Daemon. This one couldn't even liquidise to slither back where it had come from, for there was nothing left of it.

"I think we're done here!" Louise said.

"Yeah, let's report back to HQ!" Niko agreed.


"Come on demon dude, let's finish this!" Kane challenged the horned Daemon. The Samurai Shadow had been dueling with it for a while now. Neither had managed to get a hit in, the Daemon had used its trident to block Kane's attacks and vice versa. Now Kane decided to go for something that would normally be against the rules, but when you're fighting against the forces of hell, those rules don't seem quite so important. He was going to attack him from behind.

"Shinobi Thunder Crusher!" he called out, the Shinobi vanishing as he gave the command. Mere seconds later, the Daemon flew through the air, hit from behind. Standing there where he had been was the massive Rhino Shinobi Zord. Obviously it had taken a running hit at the Daemon. He turned now and saw that the ram had near enough finished the monster.

"Okay, I think we're near enough done here!" Kane smiled, but the smile soon faded. His Zord crashed to the ground, hit by something else. He wondered what could have happened. He had watched the rift the whole time and nothing had emerged, the Minotaur was dead, he had watched it liquidize himself, the Demon was down, injured, and the serpent was dead too. "Wait a minute. If the Serpent was dead, why didn't it liquidize?" Kane asked, realizing he had assumed something very wrong.

Getting the Zord back to its feet, he turned it and his suspicions were realized. The Serpent floated before him. In the place of the severed head, two new ones had grown. Automatically taking on the opponent, the Shinobi Zord charged in with its horn forward and skewered the neck of one head. Pulling hard, the head ripped away. Seconds later, two more had replaced it. Kane took a swing, hoping that three was its maximum. The three heads dropped to the ground and the body fell limp. He shoved the dark Laser Saber through the body, but the damage healed instantly.

Kane watched in horror as six new heads popped up. He gave the command for Thunder Crusher to stop before they made any more. The serpent headed for Thunder Crusher and began attacking. Kane ordered the Zord to fight back and keep it occupied while he thought of a better way to finish it.

"Hold on. This thing is just like the Hydra that Hercules faced in Greek Mythology, now how did he defeat it? I know I read that!" Kane said to himself, then he suddenly remembered.

He raised his wrist communicator to his mouth and said, "Thunder Crusher, sever one of the heads."

Kicking the Serpent away with its hind legs, the Rhino took a run-up and once again used its horn to rip off a head. Before another head could grow, Kane put the Laser Saber onto the wound. The searing heat of the blade sealed up the wound so that no new head could grow. Waiting a second and avoiding the other five heads, Kane watched to make sure he was right.

Within minutes, the Serpent was dead. All the wounds seared so that no heads could grow. Without a head, the body died. Leaving Thunder Crusher to seal the rift, the Samurai Leader was about to contact the others when he was interrupted by something else.

The ground shook and erupted nearby. A massive worm shot up out of the ground and landed nearby. Kane was about to attack when he saw something. It was filled with holes, and coming from each hole was white light. Moving his Zord clear just in time, the worm exploded in another flash of light. The only thing left now, was a single figure - the White Ranger.

"Man that thing gave me quite a chase!" Matt said through his communicator. Fortunately, he had woken up and taken control of his body, or no telling what might have happened.

"Looks like you're done. I wonder about the others." Kane said back.

Again, before Kane could find out, he was interrupted. This time by the communicator.

"Everyone, this is Lee, get back here NOW!" he commanded.

Naturally it worried the Rangers that he sounded so urgent, so they left as soon as they could, allowing the Zords to go back to their hiding places.


"What's up?" Kane asked as he appeared. The others were all there already.

"The rifts are all sealing themselves!" Lee said.

"That's a good thing, right?" Chad asked.

"No, that's a bad thing. A very bad thing. It's what I thought might happen. The small rifts are closing, so they can save power, cos they're gonna need lots of power to open…" Lee started.

"…the main rift? The gateway is opening? We're too late!" Ultima said, sounding genuinely scared.

"We can't be too late. There has to be something we can do!" Kane insisted.

Lee laughed. "Well we could go and try to seal the main rift manually, but I can't see it doing much good! Do you really think you can defeat the whole of the Underworld yourself?"

"We have to try What do you want us to do, sit around here and wait to die?" Kane snapped.

"No, here's a better idea, let's go to the main rift and get ourselves killed, now doesn't that sound so much better!" Lee replied, mocking him.

"Don't push me, little boy!" Kane said through gritted teeth to the younger Ranger.

"Ooh yeah, I'm scared, I'm really scared. I'm…" Lee stopped suddenly as he realized what he was doing. "…guys, I'm scared!" He put his hands over his face and began crying. Right now that's what they all felt like doing. Lucy, who was nearest to him, put her arms around him and held him.

"Hey, it's okay Lee, we're all scared too!" she said reassuringly. "But we've still got to do our best. We're Power Rangers and we've got a duty to do it!"

That was when they all understood the real truth. They weren't Rangers; they were a bunch of kids, children, who had been forced into the role of Rangers. Some had been given a chance to grow up a bit more, others like Lee and Chad, who were both only fourteen, were still too young. Their childhoods had been snatched away from them, and they knew they would never get them back. They began to realize just how small and fragile their lives were, and in fact, how much they were themselves. The Michelle, Niko, Louise, Chad and Matt all joined Lucy and Lee, trying to gain as much comfort and safety as they could from each other.

Kane stood and watched. How could this happen? Although not the oldest in the group, it often seemed that Kane was. As such he was often forced to take the role of virtually a parent. This wasn't fair, these children, his friends, had already lost so much. First they had lost their world, and their families. Some had gotten a few family members back, but that was little consolation. The human race was nigh extinct, and they were obliged to protect what was left from a terrible force. Now this had happened, the Underworld was taking over their planet and it seemed there was nothing they could do. For the first time since they had been given the Power, Kane felt… useless.

This confused the Black Samurai. He tried to figure out if that was how he truly felt, or whether it was just the Dark Forces of Hell working their magic on him. Thinking about it for just a moment, he decided he had to do something.

He let out a loud scream, loud enough to get everyone's attention. They turned quickly to look at him. He looked furious. Kane started shouting, "The evil imprisoned us, they took our families and they nearly wiped out our race. They have taken too much already, but I will not allow them to take our world. The Earth belongs to its inhabitants, not to some evil creep from another world. I am going to stop this, even if I have to die trying, now who's with me!"

A loud cheer came from the others. Their leader was right, they couldn't give up.

"Lee, Chad, make sure the Zords are ready, Matt. Contact Sean, let him know what's going on and tell him to get here immediately. Ultima, think you can make Power Force, yourself and Divatox grow, we might need you in this battle!" Kane ordered everyone.

"No problem. You need us, just call!" Ultima replied.

Matt went off to contact Sean while Chad and Lee set about checking the Zord status. Several had received damage in the previous battles, but the auto-repair circuits had already repaired most of it.

"The rest of you, just get yourselves ready!" Kane suggested. He led Louise away from the others. "I think we'd better use Weapon Z!"

"But you know what Zordon told us about that. If we use it, we could…" Louise protested.

"I know it could happen, but if we fail, it will happen!" Kane replied.

Louise just nodded and teleported away.

Kane could feel the evil influence of the Underworld flowing through everything around him. He spoke to it quite calmly. "Be prepared, for you're going up against the most powerful force this world has ever known!"


"Okay, is everything ready?" the Black Samurai asked. Everyone nodded in reply. "Now where's this main rift gonna open?"

"It's on an island in the Gulf of Guinea, about a thousand kilometers off the coast of Gabon." Lee said.

"Why there?" Louise asked.

"I'm not sure why in particular, maybe the boundary is weakest there, but it's the exact spot where the Prime Meridian crosses the equator. It's not even open yet, but we have no way to prevent it. The only possibility will be re-sealing it after it's fully opened." Lee explained.

"And how exactly do we do that?" Louise asked.

"The same way as we'd been sealing the smaller ones, but with a much larger blast." Lee said.

"So, would the combined blasts of Megazord Alpha's Solar Flare, Beta's Energy Strike, Gamma's Wing Blast, Delta's Fire and Ice and the UniZord be enough?" Kane asked.

"Well take all of that, add the other weapon and we may be getting close!" Lee replied.

That was quite unnerving to them all. Any one of those Megazord attacks would normally be enough to finish anyone or anything. Even the Dark Zords had fallen to their Power. Now, something that required that much power to destroy just seemed impossible.

"Okay guys. LET'S SAMURIZE!" Kane called out, bringing out his morpher. "SAMURAI BLACK!"

"SAMURAI WHITE!"

"SAMURAI PINK!"

"SAMURAI YELLOW!"

"SAMURAI BLUE!"

"SAMURAI GREEN!"

"SAMURAI RED!"

"SAMURAI SILVER!"

"SAMURAI GOLD!"

Ultima and the others watched as the Rangers teleported away. Normally he would be joining them, but not this time. He was powerful, but he knew when he was outmatched. He really felt sorry for them. He couldn't even imagine the pressure that was on those nine kids, but he knew what they were faced with would not be easy.

Ultima decided to do all he could for now - think! Ultima knew of the Eltarian Prophecy relating to the release of the Underworld, so he also knew how it ended! 'The only thing that can stop it is the thing it has never had, and may never have!' What could that be? One way or another, he had to figure it out.


The Rangers arrived on the Island. For the moment, it seemed peaceful. If they didn't know what was about to happen there, they would have just guessed it was another boring island.

"Okay, let's get ready!" Kane said.

"Samurai Zords, Power Up!" they all called out. As they appeared on the island and ran/flew along to where the Rangers stood, they immediately began to join together in two groups. Samurai Shadow, Surfer, Searcher, Spider and Storm joined together to form the winged Samurai Megazord Alpha. The remaining five Samurai Zords - Scorcher, Star, Sentinel, Senturion and Scorpion formed the mighty warrior, Samurai Megazord Beta.

"Shinobi Gems ready guys!" Kane ordered.

"Shinobi Zords, Come Forth!" they summoned. In a flash of energy, the ten colossal robots appeared. Without even needing the command, they started joining too. Mere seconds later, the Shinobi Megazords Gamma and Delta stood ready for action.

Finally, speaking the command code into his communicator, Lee summoned the UniZord. It didn't need to be formed. As the individual Zords were too weak to be used on their own now, they never separated from the UniZord configuration. Now five massive machines stood battle ready, awaiting the battle.

"Sean, you're in Megazord Alpha, Niko, Megazord Beta, Chad, Megazord Delta, Michelle, the UniZord and I'll be in Megazord Gamma!" Kane ordered.

"What about the rest of us?" Matt asked.

Louise and Kane looked round at each other. "Weapon Z!" Kane simply said.

"What's Weapon Z?" Lee asked.

"Weapon Z, was a weapon created by the UAE to destroy worlds thousands of years ago. This was before Zordon was trapped inside the warp. He sneaked onto the world it was being created on with three of the other Morphin' Masters and stole it. They couldn't destroy it, for doing that would have caused immense damage to the Morphin Grid, so instead, Zordon reprogrammed it to be a lot weaker. Even still, it remained powerful enough to cause extreme damage if used incorrectly. He kept it in his care ever since then and has not dared use it. He told myself and Louise about it when Armageddon turned up, knowing we might need it one day!" Kane explained.

"Okay, but that still doesn't explain what it is!" Lee replied.

"Alpha, teleport Weapon Z in now!" Kane ordered through the communicator.

"Ay-yi-yi be careful Rangers!" Alpha replied. "Teleporting now!"

In a flare of white energy, four massive machines appeared. The first three were all identical. They looked like small battle stations, equipped with massive boring equipment. On top was a large transmitter dish. The fourth machine was a rocket of some kind.

"So, are you gonna explain how it works?" Chad asked.

"No time, something could happen at any moment. We just need you all to get into position. Louise, get to the shuttle and initiate the launch sequence. Matt, Lucy, Lee each of you get to one of the others and teleport to the preprogrammed co-ordinates. I'll tell you what you need to do when the time comes!"" Kane said, really showing his leadership skills. He had doubted himself so often, at times he still did, but it was in these sorts of situations that everyone realized exactly why Zordon had put him in command.

The White, Green and Yellow Rangers teleported into the battle stations and vanished. Nearly as soon as Louise had got into the shuttle, she called out, "Launch Sequence Activate!"

A computerized voice said, "Launch codes inputted, blast off in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ignition!" There was a burst of flame from the thrusters and it headed up through the atmosphere. It took a few minutes to get out of the Earth's orbit.

"This is Louise, I'm beginning Satellite separation!" Louise said through the communicator to the rest of the team.

She activated the controls and the top of the shuttle opened out. A long arm extended from the cargo bay, holding a small satellite. Once it was clear of the ship, it released and began floating by itself. The arm folded back into the ship and the cargo bay doors shut. The Red Ranger teleported herself from the shuttle cockpit, over to the satellite.

"Kane, I'm setting the shuttle back down and setting the satellite into a geo-synchronous orbit over the island. I'm ready when you want me!" Louise reported, fiddling with the controls.

Back on the island, the five remaining Rangers got into their Zords and awaited the inevitable. They spread out around the edge of the island and did all they could for now - wait.

Most of them were in silence, thinking about what they were about to do, and what might happen if they failed. Matt was speaking to someone on the communicator.

"Matt, I'm scared. Why won't you tell me what's happening?" his little brother asked tearfully.

"You don't need to worry about it, it's all gonna be okay. Just go back to your room with Lewis and don't come out." Matt said gently.

"Okay. Why are all the others' parents locked in their rooms? They keep shouting at me to let them out!" Mark asked innocently.

"Mark, whatever you do, don't let any of them out! They're all… ill. If they get out they could be dangerous, just do as I said and stay with Lewis, he knows what to do." Matt replied.

"Alright." He said back.

"Go on then. I'll be back before you know it!" Matt assured him.

For a moment it sounded like he had gone, but then he said, "Matt."

"Yeah?" the White Ranger asked.

"I love you." Mark said quietly.

Matt didn't reply. He cut off the signal and held his eyes closed as a tear rolled his cheek. "I love you too!" he whispered as he thought about the most important person in his life. "I'm gonna do this for you!"

He was disturbed from his thoughts by an incoming message. "Everyone ready! It looks like something's happening!" Kane said to them all.

As they looked on, something was definitely happening. The clear blue sky was darkening as clouds seemed to be pulled in from nowhere, blackening as they blocked out the Sunlight. Moments later, the whole sky, from one horizon to the other was black. Next came the eerie red glow they had all seen before. This time, it didn't seem to be coming from anywhere, for the rift hadn't opened yet.

The five Rangers in the Megazords stared at the center of the island, as it seemed to stretch upwards. The very fabric of their world was being bent and distorted until it could be stretched no more. With a loud crack, the land split open, revealing a massive hole that stretched across most of the island. Nothing had come through yet. Only a ring of land about a three hundred foot wide remained around the edge where the Zords were standing.

The red glow intensified but still, nothing emerged. "Lee, Matt, Lucy, I'm not taking any chances. Commence drilling and align dishes." Kane ordered.

Each of the three stations was nearly six thousand kilometers away from the island. One on the island of Madagascar, one in Egypt and one on the East Coast of Brazil. Spaced apart perfectly, they were in the optimum positions to get maximum efficiency from Weapon Z.

As the three Rangers began drilling into the ground, the dishes on top of their stations aligned themselves to point at some unseen target. They didn't know where they were drilling to, or why they were doing it, but right now that was the last thing on their minds. Each of them had an image of the island on their view screen. As their stations jolted, the computer showed that drilling was complete.

Sean stared at the rift from the control deck of the Samurai Megazord Alpha. He had not been part of the group who had gone to face the smaller rifts, so he hadn't seen anything like it before. His hands sat shakily over the controls, awaiting the attack. He just hoped he could do whatever was needed. Although he wasn't really a part of the team any more, he still had a duty to fulfill as a Ranger, and right now, that was what he had every intention of doing!

"Here it comes!" Kane stuttered.

They all stared in a mix of awe and terror. A massive creature was emerging from the rip in reality. At first just its head had emerged. It had red scaly skin and evil, thin slits for eyes. It had horns protruding from the top of its head, they went straight up, then halfway along folded at a right angle to point straight ahead. The face was fat as the mouth opened slightly; they could several rows of teeth stained with rancid blood. The scariest thing was its size. Just the head alone was almost as tall as the UniZord, which was the largest Zord in their arsenal.

It had only emerged up to its waist when Kane ordered the attack to begin. "Everyone together!" he ordered.

"SOLAR FLARE!" Sean commanded.

"ENERGY STRIKE!" Niko ordered.

"WING BLAST!" Kane gave the order.

"FIRE AND ICE!" Chad said as he hit the controls.

"ALL WEAPONS, LOCK ON AND FIRE!" Michelle shouted.

Megazord Alpha's attack was first to initiate, it shot its bolt of energy into the sky and waited while the others began their attacks. The Power sword appeared in Megazord Beta's hand and began to glow. Megazord Gamma's wings folded forward and the power began to build. Megazord delta's arms pointed forward and the golden flame around its head grew even larger. Finally, the Rescue Megazord's weapons appeared on the UniZord as all the other weapons charged.

"FIRE!" they commanded in unison. The Solar Flare flooded down from above and enveloped the Daemon. At the same time, Beta swiped its sword and a wave of energy sped towards the blast. Gamma's wings opened out and released the energy held within. Delta's hands fired shot after shot of ice while the flames around its head extended to attack the Daemon. UniZord fired every weapon at its disposal, the Rescue Megazord weapons, Pyramidas' weapons, the shoulder blasters from Red Battlezord and the missiles from Falcon Zord.

Every Megazord added its own power to the blast. The Rangers had to constantly survey their Zords' servomechanisms; otherwise the power of the blast would have knocked them down. Never before had all the Zords ever been used together in such a way. They just hoped it was enough.

The light began to die down and the Rangers stared at where the Daemon had stood. He was gone, so too was the rift.

"Guys, looks like we did it!" Kane called out happily to the others.

"YES!" Chad called out. "Another one bites the dust!"

"Geez, from the way all you wimps were acting, I thought this was gonna be a challenge! That was easy." Sean added.

"Rangers, this is Alpha!" the mechanoid said, sounding thoroughly distressed. "You have to…" but he never got the chance to finish the sentence. They soon saw what he was about to warn them about. The rift exploded open once again, and as the cloud of dust and debris cleared, they saw the Daemon standing there, fully emerged from the rip and severely pissed!

"FIRE WEAPON Z!" Kane commanded.
