Trini sipped her coffee and opened her book. She began reading when a loud crash resounded from the kitchen. Trini threw her book down and raced to the scene. She heard a loud, evil laugh. No, Trini cried, Not him!
She'd recognized that laugh and ran faster. She stopped for a milisecond in the enteryway. Goldar was standing there with a batch of Putties threatening her parents.
Without a thought, Trini leapt and kicked Goldar in the chest. "What do you want?" she demanded through clenched teeth.
"Oh, I'm just on a nightly stroll and my Master thought I should terrorize someone. We rolled the dice and it came up yellow."
"Leave us alone," Mrs. Kwan said. "We have nothing to do with you."
"Maybe you two don't," Goldar answered, pointing to Trini's parents. "But she does." He pointed to Trini.
"Trini?" Mr. Kwan said. "What happened? And why aren't the Power Rangers here?"
"They would be here if my Master hadn't blocked their communications systems."
"Trini? What ever it is, give it back to them," her father said.
"What Trini? You never told them?" He laughed.
"Tell us what?" Trini's mother asked.
"She's a Power Ranger."
"You're lying!" Trini's father yelled.
"Why parents, why would I be here if she isn't?"
"Even if she is, then at least she's doing something to protect people," her mother said. "At least she's doing something for Good."
"Trini, are you or aren't you?" her father demanded.
Trini looked at him. His eyes were flashing with anger---at her. The air around him was vibrating with anger. His lips were pressed into a thin line. He's mad at me for putting them in danger, she realized.
"Well?"
Trini swallowed and knew she couldn't answer him. His entire being was sickened with the idea that she would be fighting a war.
Trini decided her next best option. She leapt at Goldar.
He flung her aside and stode toward her parents. Her father was standing protectively infront of her mom. "Damn."
She could stand by and keep her identity or she could morph and try to protect her parents. "Saber Tooth Tiger!"
She got out her bladeblaster and shot at Goldar and two putties. Goldar roared and charged toward her. The Yellow Ranger took out her Power Daggers and used them to deflect Goldar's sword.
Goldar kicked her in the stomach and grabbed her Morpher. He grabbed her shirt, threw her and she crashed agaist the wall. Trini felt her arm go numb. At least its not broken, she thought.
Then she stared in terror as two putties took hold of her mother and Goldar laughed as he plunged his sword through her stomach. "Noooo!" Trini yelled. She ran awkwardly toward them. She flung herself inbetween her mother and the monster. She felt her morpher in her hands. She'd knocked it out of his hands.
Trini glared up at him. Even though she was lying on the floor, and holding her morpher, she saw fear in his eyes.
He and his minions vanished in a cloud of smoke.
She turned around and winced in pain. Her father was holding her mother and crying.
The adrelaline was subsiding and Trini felt the hidden emotins emerging, splashing her cerebral cortex like a tidal wave. She let the sobs escape its prison and crawled toward her parents. She gently put her mother's hand in hers.
Her mother turned her head. "Trini, I don't blame you for this. Never stop fighting for what you believe in. I love you."
Then she died.
Her father looked up and Trini's stomache churned with nausea. His face was contorted with mixed emotions. He was crying for his wife, but his eyes were flashing with hate. "How could you do this to us? You put us in danger because you're a Ranger! Did you ever think of how it would effect others when you excepted your position?"
"Yes, I did! I thought of how many people could die if I hadn't chosen to help stop the invasion."
"Well, you obviously didn't think of how it would effect us."
"I didn't think they'd get this far."
"How can you protect the planet and not even be able to save you're own mother?"
"I didn't kill her," Trini whispered.
A long silence followed and then Mr. Kwan glared at Trini. "Yes you did."
Trini stared at him, not believeing what she had just heard.
"And as far as I'm concerned, you're not my daughter anymore."
Trini got up, picked up her morpher, took one last look at her mom and walked up to her room. She shook her arm, making sure it was able to carry things. She got out her suitcase and began to pack.
She rolled her suitcase down the stairs and hefted her duffel bag on her shoulder. She walked out.
it's chilled us to the bone
we haven't seen the sun for weeks
too long too far from home
I feel just like I'm sinking
and I claw for solid ground I'm pulled down by the undertow
I never thought I could feel so low
oh darkness I feel like letting go
Trini used a modifier Billy had made to fix her teleportation system and teleported to Billy's house. She looked around and realized she'd landed in his room. The bed was empty. He's problaby down in his lab,Trini thought. Then she saw a picture of him and her on his nightstand.
Trini smiled and felt tears form in her eyes. She wiped them away with a quick swipe of her hand. She remembered that day in the park. They'd been having a picnic together, before they'd become Power Rangers. How carefree we were back thenshe thought.
"Trini?"
Trini, jumped, startled and turned around. Billy was standing there in jeans and a shirt. She knew he could see her silouhette bouncing off the moonlight.
"Trini, what are you doing here?" He moveed to turn on the light.
"Billy, please leave the light off."
He put his hand down. "What's wrong?"
Trini just stared at him, feeling too many emotions to speak. She loved him and had for years. Trini wanted nothing more than to be with him. She knew that was impossible.
Her father had told her he'd unveil her secret if she ever came back to Angel Grove. She could never come back. Trini didn't want her discovery leading to her friends' identities.
With a despondant sigh, she realized this would be the last time she'd ever see him. "Billy, I have to go. I can't explain why. You'll find out soon. I just wanted to say goodbye," she said in a haorse whisper.
"Trini....."
"Please, Billy. Don't make this any harder than it is. Just hug me goodbye."
Billy slowly walked toward her. He hugged her fiercely.
Trini tightened her grip, wanting to stay in his embrace, being comforted with his presence. She let go.
"I love you, Goodbye." She pushed the yellow button and found herself on the street.
come and lift me from this place
I know I could love you much better than this
full of grace
full of grace
my love
Trini hailed a taxi cab and got in.
"Where to--"
"The Angel Grove Airport," Trini said hastely.
The driver nodded.
Once they were there, Trini got out and paid him. She picked up her bags and went to get her ticket. Once she had her ticket she walked numbly to the restroom. She teleported to the Command Center.
having seen this place before
where everything we said and did
hurts us all the more
it's just that we stayed, too long
in the same old sickly skin
"Zordon, I'm leaving. I can't.....I can't tell you why. and I hope you're not offended by this, but this is beyond my control."
"We saw on the veiwing globe, Trini. We saw you and your father talking. Who killed your mother?"
"Goldar."
"Rita blocked out all communications. If we had known, we wouldn't have been able to do anything. I'm sorry about your loss. I would have rather died than have this happen to you."
"I....I need to give this back to you." She put the morpher and communicator on the console. "It was an honor serving under you. Stay well and tell the others I love them."
"You were a wonderful Ranger and I am privlieged to have known and tutored you. I have faith in your judgement, Trini. If you think it is wise for you to leave, then you must do so. Take care."
"Ay, yi, yi, yi, yi," Alpha said softly and pushed to the button to teleport Trini and her bags to the airport.
I never thought I could feel so low
oh darkness I feel like letting go
Trini sighed and got on the plane.
Alpha teleported the five other Rangers to the Command Center. "Rangers," Zordon's vioce boomed,"Goldar attacked Trini's house. Rita blocked all communications and once Goldar had left, the communications systems were operable."
"Is Trini okay?" Kimberly asked.
"She's leaving," Billy said,"She came to my house and said goodbye. Why is she leaving, Zordon?"
"Goldar killed her mother. Mr. Kwan blames her for it. He has disowned her and he told her that if she returns then he'll reveal her identity.......Rangers, I too, will miss Trini, but we must choose another Yellow Ranger."
"What about Aisha, Zordon?" Jason whispered.
Zordon nodded silently. They looked at the viewing globe, each of them expressing their emotions in their own way. After awhile, the others were tired and went home.
Billy stayed there for hours watching her plane fly through the air. He would watch her and if anything ever happened to her, he would be there.
and all of the courage
