Framed for Crimes
By Lamont Stewart

Sixth grade was so far a cool year. I had been at Morton Middle School for about two and a half years. The second semester had already started and I had my first crush on a girl, Ashley Sylva.

However, as you know by now, my life is never that simple.

~*~

School had been let out for the day, and I was at my locker cleaning it up a bit, when someone grabbed my arm. I looked up and a teacher was pulling me up.

"Come with me," he said.

I just cleared my throat and followed him.

Well the next thing I knew, I was accused of a crime. Then I was expelled from school.

Walking home I thought to my self, "How could they think that I did that. That’s not me at all."

I hopped on my bike that I placed on the bike rack, and started to petal home.

I took the short cut I always took; it was a good thing that I did, because there was some older kids in that alley too. They were around the corner from where I was, so they didn’t see me, but I saw them when I wrecked my bike.

As I was getting up I accidentally over heard what they were saying. "I can’t believe the teachers fell for it."

"Ya, they totally blamed, Lamont."

"That will teach that little 12 year old to be so smart."

I thought to my self, "Those 8th graders framed me for doing this, because I’m smart. Well I guess, some people are just jealous. The question here is, how do I convince the people at school I didn’t do it?"

~*~

I got home and turned on my TV. My favorite new show was another Disney cartoon. Two years ago I had liked that show called Chip-n-Dale’s Rescue Rangers, and now there was one called Dark Wing Duck.

I watched it, and watched all the tricks that he did and then a smile creeped over my face. I ran to my attic and gathered some stuff, and then I put it on. After I made sure it looked well, climbed back down the ladder and sewed some of the fabric together. When I was done, I thought I looked cool.

The first thing was an old jacket. It had a lining in it, because it was January. I also attached a blue cape to it, to make it look cool. Then I put a mask over my eyes, and finally I put on an old baseball cap.

Then I walked out side to see if anybody could recognize me. Amazingly, no one did.

I went to down town Vandalia to show off my new look, when I saw those 8th graders that framed me, attacking an old lady. I scared them off. The lady thanked me, and I went home.

~*~

Later that night, I watched the news and a report said; someone named only as the Masked Kid saved an old lady.

I turn off the TV and thought for a minute. "With this disguise, I can prove my innocent." Then I went to sleep.
