It was the same kind of feeling that lurked in the hearts of evil, such as Scorpius or Astronema. Since Jenny was Astronema’s daughter, she occasionally felt the desire to simply be evil. However, Jenny was fighting for all that is good, so she hated that temporary evil desire pounding with each heartbeat.

Fortunately, Jenny was the kind of girl who could define control. In order to satisfy her thirst for evil, she simply sneaks out to surround herself with evil. Her husband Darkonda was always the preferred choice. Darkonda had a taste of evil in his charm which Jenny can’t help but love. Just a dose of his love would cure Jenny of this evil sensation.

Jenny climbed out of bed and marched through the halls directly to the jump tubes.

“Hey, where are you going?” Carlos asked.

Jenny paused. “I need to get this evil out of my chest.”

“Oh, I see,” the Cryptkeeper said. “Carry on.”

“I may be gone for a long time,” Jenny said. “If Scorpius attacks, you can handle it without me, right? This urge is significantly strong today.”

“We’ll do our best,” the Cryptkeeper told her.

Jenny smiled, then went through the tube.

“What did she mean ‘get the evil out of her chest?’” Damon asked.

“Oh boy, have we got a tale for you!” Spinal said.

“But you’d better not say anything to her about it,” C.C. said.

“Now, don’t think she’s a nut because of this,” the Cryptkeeper said. “But.....”

Everyone leaned in towards the center of the table to hear about Jenny’s kin.....

~*~

In the meantime, Jenny took the galaxy glider down to that monster-infested wild west town similar to Onyx. She went straight into the saloon. Luckily, she happened to find Darkonda sitting at the bar. With an evil grin, Jenny snuck up behind him.

“Hi!” she yelled into his ear.

Darkonda jumped up and gasped. Jenny laughed out loud.

“Tonfa Spice!” Darkonda cried, relieved.

Jenny was still laughing. “I can’t believe I actually startled you!”

“Neither can I,” Darkonda admitted. “So, what brings you here?”

“I just needed some time off.”

“I see.”

“So, Darkonda......I haven’t seen you in a while,” Jenny said.

“I’ve been busy, my love,” Darkonda told her.

“With what?” Jenny asked.

Darkonda grinned. “I’m glad you asked. Come with me, and I’ll show you.”

He took Jenny’s hand and led her outside the saloon. Once they were out, they vanished in a flicker of red fire.

“Oh wow!” Jenny murmured when they reappeared at their destination.

“It’s my new lab,” Darkonda informed her.

The lab looked just like the old lab, except significantly darker. Darkonda led Jenny deeper into the darkness.

“Isn’t it a little dark in here?” she asked.

“Maybe, but it doesn’t matter to me,” Darkonda replied. He turned on a desktop lamp, allowing Jenny to get a better glimpse.

“So, you were busy building a new lab?”

“I’ve also been developing a complex experiment,” Darkonda added. “I want you to be my subject.”

“Why me?” Jenny asked.

“Think about it. Who else would submit to me?”

Jenny paused for a moment. “Um.....probably no one. Well......okay. What do I have to do?”

Darkonda picked up a beaker filled with a glowing blue liquid. “First off, you must drink this.”

Jenny took the beaker and stared at the liquid. “Why? What does it do?”

“It only induces a deep and tranquilizing sleep. It also fertilizes the imagination.”

“Fertilizes the imagination? I don’t get it.”

“It means that your dreams will be much more vivid. I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of dreams,” Darkonda explained. “Now drink up. It’ll put you to sleep within a few minutes.”

“Why?” Jenny asked. “So that you can do surgery on me?”

“No. I want to monitor your dreams. That’s what this machine is for.” Darkonda gestured to a machine much like the ones surgeons used to monitor their patients’ vital signs during an operation.

“My dreams will be more vivid?” Jenny asked. “So if I have a nightmare, I’ll be so frightened, I’ll follow the cow when it jumps over the moon.”

Darkonda laughed. “I don’t know about the nightmares. Now, drink up, my love.”

Jenny continued to stare at the liquid, breathing heavily.

“Go ahead,” Darkonda pressured.

“Hey, don’t rush me!” Jenny cried. “I’ll do it when I’m good and ready. Okay, I’m ready.”

She took a deep breath, then slowly drank the strange liquid. It had a sweet, medicine-like taste which wasn’t very appealing. Seconds later, Jenny felt a stomach ache, and she dropped the beaker. The glass shattered violently on the floor.

“Oh man.....” Jenny groaned, holding her stomach.

“Here, you’d better lie down,” Darkonda instructed as he led her to a table next to the machine.

Jenny reclined on the table reluctantly. She could feel her strength leaving her body. “I can feel it working already.”

“Very good,” Darkonda replied.

He began to strap her to the table. Jenny lifted her head shakily.

“What’s this for?” she asked nervously.

“It’s all right, my dear,” Darkonda assured her. “Humans love to toss in their sleep. I wouldn’t want you to fall off the table while the experiment is in session.”

Jenny dropped back again. Her eyelids were getting heavier by the second. “Why.....why would you want to monitor my dreams?”

“Because.....I want to taste your mind.”

Jenny still wasn’t ready to give in. She breathed heavily, instinctively trying to fight the effects of Darkonda’s potion. “I don’t believe this.....”

“Don’t fight it, my love,” Darkonda told her. “Just relax and let the potion take over.”

Jenny took a deep breath as Darkonda stroked her forehead. Her chest heaved up and down slowly as her eyelids drifted completely closed, and she fell into a deep sleep.

Darkonda paused as he stared at Jenny for a moment. Once he snapped out of his trance, he took a short strap, which was attached to the machine by cords, and fastened it around Jenny’s wrist. The image on the monitor went blank, indicating that she hadn’t begun dreaming yet.

“Sweet dreams, my love,” Darkonda mumbled.

~*~

On the Scorpion Stinger, Astronema was introducing the Psycho Rangers to Scorpius.

“The Rangers don’t stand a chance against the Psychos,” Astronema said. “The Psychos know them inside and out.”

“But you said that they have failed to destroy our enemies,” Scorpius told her.

“We were never defeated,” Psycho Red told him. “We’ll destroy the Power Rangers and the Spice Club.”

“I wouldn’t count on it,” Ecliptor said. “The five of you together couldn’t even defeat Tonfa Spice alone.”

“So Tonfa Spice was a challenge,” Psycho Black said. “Surely the others can’t be as tough.”

“Forget it!” Elgar exclaimed. “The Spices are unbeatable! We’ve tried everything!”

“Everything?” Scorpius asked. “Have you taken hostages?”

“Tried it,” the Psychos said in unison.

“Have you made them evil?” Scorpius suggested.

“Tried it,” the Psychos said in unison.

“Have you turned them against each other?”

“Tried it.”

“Have you infiltrated them with a clone?”

“Tried it.”

“Tried that one twice,” Elgar added. “They don’t work, do they?”

“Have you tried getting them to fall in love?” Scorpius asked.

“They’ve done that to us,” Psycho Red told him. “And they were successful.”

“Well, we should do it to them.”

“Excellent,” Astronema agreed. “We’ll attack Terra Venture to lure them out of their igloo.”

“Proceed at once!” Scorpius ordered.....

~*~

Carlos whispered to himself as he walked down the halls of the Astro Megaship. He walked by the Simudeck, but stopped when he saw something odd. The Simudeck had the environment of a kitchen. The dishwashing machine was open, and the bottom rack had been pulled out. The odd thing was that Ruth was lying across the bottom rack of the dishwasher fast asleep. Carlos immediately rushed to wake her up.

“Ruth!”

“Hmm?” Ruth woke up. When she realized where she was, she scrambled out.

“What were you doing sleeping in the dishwasher?” Carlos asked.

Ruth looked around, a puzzled look on her face. “That’s a good question.”

“Rangers, Spices, you are needed on Terra Venture,” Deca announced.

“Come on!” Ruth cried.

She and Carlos joined the other heroes in their trip to the space colony. Terra Venture was being terrorized by Quantrons, Stingwingers, Ecliptor, Furio, and Elgar.

“Destroy them!” Furio demanded.

The Quantrons and Stingwingers attacked, and the heroes rushed into battle. Ecliptor headed straight for Ruth.”

“Ruth!” he called.

Ruth spun around and gasped. “Stay away from me, you freak!” she cried.

Ecliptor grabbed her wrist. “Ruth, you don’t understand. I need you! If Darkonda and Tonfa Spice can be intimate, so can we.”

“No, we can’t!” Ruth shouted, kicking Ecliptor’s shin. “I have a man and children!”

Carlos kicked Ecliptor from behind. “Sorry, Ecliptor, but Ruth is already taken!”

Ecliptor lifted his sword and charged at the Black Ranger......

Spinal came out of an athletic supplies store with a hockey stick and used it to fight the Stingwingers. After taking a few attackers, the Cryptkeeper approached him.

“Spinal, since when do you use a hockey stick to defend yourself?” he asked.

“What?” Spinal looked confused. He looked at the hockey stick, apparently just now realizing what he was doing. “I have no idea.”

“Well, since you’re doing such a good job, why don’t you move on?”

“Sure thing.”

Then Spinal went back into action. As he swung the hockey stick furiously, he noticed Fulgore turning cartwheels. As far as Spinal knew, Fulgore wasn’t programmed with gymnastics abilities. Spinal fought his way over to the cyborg.

“Fulgore, since when do you do cartwheels?” he asked.

Fulgore looked confused. “Was I turning cartwheels?”

“Yes.”

“I don’t know what to say, little one. I don’t recall turning cartwheels. Why are you using a hockey stick instead of your sword and shield?”

“I was wondering that myself,” Spinal admitted.

Fortunately, the fight was much shorter than expected. When the villains retreated, the heroes cheered with triumph.

“I guess we kicked those honeybuns!” Fulgore said.

“Can we go home now?” Hallie asked.

The warriors teleported back to the Megaship.

Later that day, Ecliptor traveled to an abandoned laboratory to build a giant ray gun. The main room had a sofa and a small table with a blue vase on top. The laser weapon was in the next room aimed through a tiny hole in the wall at the sofa.

“Yes, this weapon will take care of our enemies quite nicely,” Ecliptor told himself.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of glass shattering. He spun around to see one of the windows broken and a baseball rolling to a stop on the floor. Seconds later, there was a knock on the door. Ecliptor opened a slot to see who was outside. It was Hallie, Kathy, Robyn, and Rachel. All four little girls had a baseball mitt on their right hand. Rachel wore a blue baseball cap sideways and was chewing bubble gum.

“Hey Ecliptor!” Hallie called. “Our ball went through your window! Can we have it back?”

“Huh?” Ecliptor looked back at the baseball. “That’s it! I’ll destroy these four first. I’ll hide the ball so that they can’t have it. Then they’ll have to stay here; therefore, I can zap them easily. Yes, yes!”

Ecliptor picked up the ball and carried it into the next room. Then he opened the door.

“Hello, girls. What seems to be the trouble?”

“Our ball flew through the window,” Hallie said.

“It wouldn’t have happened of Robyn could catch,” Rachel said.

“I would’ve caught it if you’d throw it straight,” Robyn told her. “You always throw crooked.”

“Do not!”

“Do so!”

“Girls, girls, don’t fret,” Ecliptor said in a sickeningly sweet voice. “Come in please. I’ll help you find your ball.”

The girls walked inside the lab.

“Now wait here while I look for the ball.” Ecliptor turned and started into the next room, then spun around to face the children again. “And don’t touch anything! I’ll find the ball, even if it takes me an entire millennium.” He walked into the next room.

“That’s okay, we’ve got time,” Hallie said.

“What’s a melinamum?” Rachel asked.

“A thousand years,” Kathy told her.

The girls fell into a silence as Ecliptor prepared the laser weapon in the next room. After a while, the girls sat on the sofa and nearly fell asleep. Robyn woke up suddenly.

“What was that guy’s name again?” she asked.

“Ecliptor,” Hallie replied.

“Oh.”

There was another pause before Robyn spoke again.

“What’s taking Clipper so long to find our ball?”

The other girls shrugged.

Ecliptor peeked through the hall only to see three of the girls sitting there.

“Wait a minute.....one is missing!”

He rushed into the main room. Rachel was at the little table, slowly reaching out to knock the vase off.

“NOOOO!!!” Ecliptor hurried over to stop Rachel from shattering the vase. He picked it up and moved Rachel back to the couch. He stood in front of the girls. “Didn’t I tell you not to touch anything!?”

A female computer voice spoke from behind. “Laser firing in five, four, three, two, one......”

Ecliptor turned around. “Uh-oh.....”

The laser fired from the next room, frying Ecliptor. He fell to the floor, still holding up the vase, which was unharmed. The girls were also unharmed.

“Poor Clipper.....” Rachel mumbled.

Ecliptor scrambled into his feet and ran into the next room. He came out a minute later with the baseball. “Here’s your stupid ball. Now get out, get out, GET OUT!!!!”

The girls ran out of the lab.

“Bye, Clipper!” Hallie called.

“Bye, Clipper!” Kathy echoed.

Ecliptor sighed as he disappeared.

~*~

Back at the Megaship, everyone decided to mess around again. So what was going on?

“What would happen if everyone mispronounced words?” the Cryptkeeper asked out of nowhere.

“Things would be very confusing,” Ruth replied.

“I’m not just talking about mispronounced words, but I’m also talking about misused words,” the Cryptkeeper added. “In fact, I do that all the time.”

“Really?” Hallie asked.

“Yes, really. Watch......All you Power Rangers sure know (rot) from wrong.”

The others laughed.

“That was cool!” Rachel cried.

The Astro Megaship also had a telephone. As it rang, Rachel ran to answer it. “(Halo.)”

The caller was Ecliptor. “I’d like to speak with Magic Spice.”

“Umm.......” Rachel wasn’t familiar of her mother’s nickname. “Uh.....he’s not here right now. Can I take a (massage)?”

“Uh.....no.” Ecliptor hung up.

“Who was it?” Robyn asked.

“I think it was Clipper,” Rachel replied.

The group fell into a silence.

“Man, I’m bored!” the Cryptkeeper cried. “I wish Jenny would come back so that she could spice up this place.”

“Anybody hungry?” Kai asked. “I’m a good cook.”

“Nah.....” the others replied in unison.

“Have you seen Spinal’s cooking?” Ashley asked. “He’s really good.”

“Frankly, I wouldn’t want to eat something that Spinal’s had his filthy bony fingers on,” Kai said.

Spinal, who was asleep on the floor, lifted his head. “Hmph!” He lay his head back down and went back to sleep. The others laughed.....

~*~

Darkonda had seen enough of Jenny’s dreams, as the monitor went blank again. This meant that Jenny was about to wake up. And rightly so.

Jenny opened her eyes slowly. Darkonda approached her casually.

“Welcome back to consciousness,” he said.

Jenny sighed. “Did I sleep long enough?”

“As usual, you slept beautifully, my love.”

Jenny sat up. “Whoa.....Darkonda.....I just had the weirdest dreams!”

Darkonda nodded. “Yes, I know.”

Now Jenny sat up and began trudging out. “Now I feel really weird. Well, I’ll be going home now.”

Darkonda sighed as Jenny left the lab.

“Love hurts......” he mumbled.

~*~

Jenny returned home where the others greeted her.

“Well, Jenny, did you enjoy your time out?” the Cryptkeeper asked.

“Mm-hmm....” Jenny replied with a smile. “I had the weirdest dreams!”

“Well, wait ‘til you here what happened to us!” Fulgore exclaimed.

“I wanna hear about Jenny’s dreams!” Hallie cried.

Jenny sat down at the table. “There’s nothing major really. I just dreamt that Ruth was sleeping in the dishwashing machine. And then when you guys went into battle, you were fighting really strangely.”

“What do you mean ‘strange?’” Carlos asked.

“First of all, Spinal was using a hockey stick instead of his sword and shield,” Jenny explained. “Also, Fulgore was turning cartwheels, something he wasn’t programmed to do. And then after the fight was over, Hallie, Kathy, Robyn, and Rachel were playing catch when their baseball went through the window of a building where Ecliptor was building a huge laser weapon. While they were waiting for their ball, Ecliptor tried to shoot them. But Rachel was about to break a vase, so Ecliptor came out, and he ended up getting shot by the laser. And the weird thing is, Robyn and Rachel kept calling him ‘Clipper.’”

“Really?” the Cryptkeeper asked. “You dreamt all that?”

“Yeah,” Jenny replied. “So.....what happened to you guys?”

“Um.....” The others looked at each other. “Absolutely nothing.”

“Oh.....okay. Nice talking to y’all.” Jenny stood up and walked out of the room slowly.

So Jenny truly has some strange dreams, and Darkonda’s experiment worked perfectly. Jenny’s dreams were so vivid that they actually came to life! If this were the case, why can’t the Spices’ dream of returning home and finding Zordon ever come true?

ough. È
