Episode 4 - Shadows of The Flame

Space Station - Command Deck
The station hums with quiet urgency. Colt stands center-floor reviewing attack telemetry. Dulcea enters with Ule, Dais, and Mia behind her.
Colt: Anything on Ooze.
Dais: Not since Phaedos.
Mia: Without Your Omega Flare we would have been dead for sure.
Ule: You saved us.
Colt rubs his temples, holding back frustration. Billy walks in with reports on a tablet.
Colt: Tell me something good.
Billy shows him his findings
Billy: Well we have some good news on the Parallax front. We're beginning to understand the energy that split him in the first place with that knowledge we've begun to run simulations. If everything remains the way we've seen, we should be able to try this soon.
Colt: Great what about Ooze
Billy: We haven't quite cracked that yet. He's powerful. His power is ancient, older than the Morphing Grid itself. What we do know is that the only thing the folks on Phaedos were ever able to do is imprison him. Your Omega flare seemed to catch him off guard so we're looking into that. We'll need more time.
Colt: Do what you do. Only faster.
Billy: Copy that.
Jason walks in
Jason: You've got a meeting.
Colt nods and walks out
Space Station Hallway
Jason and Colt are walking down the Hallway on the way to Colt's office.
Colt: How bad is the heat?
Jason: The kind of bad where you wish you were facing Lord Zedd instead of a conference call. They've been waiting for nearly an hour
Colt: They've got a whole planet breathing down their necks. I wouldn't be happy either.
Colt's Office
Colt walks into his office on the view screens are Secretary General (of the United Earth Council) Aaliyah Singh. Admiral (of The U.E.D.F) Henry Gloval and Colonel Elias Kurtz Chief of Special Programs Division.
Colt: Secretary, Admiral, and...
Elias: Colonel Elias Kurtz Chief of Special Programs Division
Colt: Oh Okay I hear good things about S.P.D.
Elias: Your apology is noted, Colton Oliver. Now, dispense with the excuses
Aaliyah: Colonel, that tone is unwarranted. Colt, we understand the nature of the situation.
Colt: Obviously I apologize for keeping you waiting I know you are incredibly busy. I appreciate you taking the time.
Elias: Mr. Oliver the UDEF is concerned with the amount of resources the League is dedicating to "Off world issues" Seems there isn't enough manpower to protect from these threats from multiple front. With the E-Von Ooze...
Colt: Ivan Ooze
Elias: He is an existential contaminant! T.E.C. is certainly lurking. Your primary asset, Parallax, is comatose, and your command structure is compromised. I want a strategic roadmap, not a sympathy plea for your family issues.
Henry: Colonel Kurtz! Personal remarks are off-protocol! (He addresses Colt with regret) Colt, the UEDF shares the Colonel's concern. With Blade Oliver indisposed and so much happening amongst the stars, the Earth is dangerously exposed. The incident in Stone Canyon proves we cannot rely on the League's limited manpower to contain this level of threat.
Colt: Our science teams are days away from hopefully solving the Parallax problem we've also got a lead on an Ooze solution. We're juggling fire, Admiral, but we have a plan.
Aaliyah: Colt, I believe in the League's necessity, and I admire your commitment to your brother. But the political reality is this: The public is frightened, and the Council is restless. If the League cannot guarantee stability on our soil then the United Earth Council will have no choice but to explore more human-centric defense protocols.
Elias: The time for magic is over, Mr. Oliver. It's time for the defense that humans can control and trust.
Colt: I hear you, Secretary General. And I understand the gravity of your threat. But The Galaxy League came together to handle the threats that Earth cannot. We will not fail. Gold Ranger Out.
Colt shuts off the view screens breaths heavily and sinks in the chair.
Jason walks in the office
Jason: Thundercats and the rest of the Lightstar Rangers have reported in. Told them you'd brief them when they arrived.
Colt: Sure go back and gather them tell them I'll be there in a minute.
Dark Fortress - Throne Room
Sinestro sits on his throne watching Ivan Ooze's Battles with the Omega Rangers as footsteps echo through the room. Zedd, Rita, Mumm-Rah, Mondo and Grimlord look up in disbelief.
Rita: Wait...YOU DID THIS?!
Sinestro: You actually think something like this wouldn't happen by my hand? You're even dumber than I thought.
Ivan Ooze smiles and embraces Sinestro.
Ivan: Imagine my surprise when he used his ring to free me
Zedd: Are you insane?!
Sinestro: We have an agreement.
Ivan: I destroy all the Rangers. You pick the bones, I move onto better things, maybe a new planet, one with a beach
Sinestro: We're behind schedule.
Ivan: I will destroy them in my own time.
Sinestro: We need to escalate the situation they're growing too comfortable.
Ivan waves a long purple finger.
Ivan: Don't get too comfy, Ring-Boy. I'm not here to play puppet.
Sinestro: Oh, you'll play. Because chaos is predictable, Ivan.
(lights cigar with ring)
And I have a schedule to keep. Now Go!
Ivan sneers but doesn't argue.
Mumm Ra: I do not trust him
Sinestro: Neither do I. But everyone has their part to play. He'll play his...He can't help himself
Space Station - Meeting Room
Billy is standing in front of a giant screen facing the table where Colt sits at the head. Surrounded by The Council of Power members Dex, Trey, Lion-o, Dulcea, Andros, Jason, TJ, and Tommy.
Billy: According to legend Ivan Ooze terrorized the Galaxy for thousands of years. He was defeated by the Master Warriors of the Planet Phadeos. Expert mystics as well as warriors. As powerful as they were, the best they could do was capture him and bury him underneath the planet. The ancient magic worked but he's too powerful now, capturing him won't be an option this time. To stop him we'd have to kill him.
Colt: Great. We haven't even been able to really slow him down.
Billy: That might not necessarily be the case
Billy hits a button on his tablet to show unseen camera footage from the last battle with Ooze. Showing him getting up slowly with gold burns all over his body then retreating. The Council is shocked.
Billy: It appears your Omega Flare slowed him down. Further exposure could stop him altogether.
Colt: I learned a little bit about from the elders on Phaedos, I can't really control it, definitely not enough to channel it into one person. I'm lucky I didn't kill the rest of my team.
Dulcea: There may be a way sir.
Colt: I'm all ears.
Dulcea: We never talk about it much because there's usually time to teach someone to master the Omega Flame. But there is a talisman found on Phaedos called the Will Anchor. It channels the Raw energy of the flame and focuses it. It is deep within the ruins of Phaedos it is heavily guarded and if even if we could get to it for it to work the anchor must deem the wearer worthy.
Colt: So we'd be risking death for something we might even be able to use.
Dulcea nods
Colt: Jason, Tommy, TJ, Lion-o...We'll split the Earth into 4 zones your teams will handle any and all disturbances. Jason will coordinate. Tell S.C.U. that we might need assistance. Ready The Parallax squad just in case.
Jason: Will do!
Colt: Omega Rangers...pack up. We leave in five.
Omega Rangers leave
Colt: Hey Dex. Can you stick around for a minute.
Dex: Sure.
Phaedos - The Ruins
The landscape is harsh, wind-whipped, alive with whispered ancient energies. The Omega Rangers and Dulcea land with a flash of light.
Mia: Would be nice to come home on leave. My parents are gonna kill me. Something about all of this feels off.
Dais: Yeah... like something woke up that shouldn't have.
Dulcea kneels, running her hand across old stone engraved with ancient symbols.
Dulcea:
These markings speak of the first war against Ivan Ooze. Of the warriors who
bound him.
...And of the cost.
Colt: Does it say anything about the Anchor
Dulcea rises.
Dulcea:
There is a place deeper within the ruins. A chamber sealed long before any of
you were born.
If the anchor is there, that's where it will be.
They move carefully, torches illuminating the winding cavern.
The Inner Chamber - Phaedos
They enter a wide stone room with pillars carved in the shapes of long-dead warriors. At the center: a cracked, glowing stone sarcophagus.
Ule:...That's not ominous at all.
Dais: I hate magic. Give me something I can punch.
Dulcea approaches
Dulcea: This is the Inner Chamber of the Ancient Temple. Where the Master Warriors of Phaedos protected our world and learned the magic that would bind Ooze's essence.
Colt: What do you need from us to help you find the Anchor?
Dulcea looks up to respond as the ground trembles beneath them Lightning cracks across the sarcophagus.
Mia: Uh... Dulcea? Is that normal?!
Dulcea: No. Everyone, back!
The sarcophagus erupts as a spectral form begins to rise and then forms into a Stone Knight.
Colt: What is that?!
Dulcea stares at the remaining glow.
Dulcea: A Stone Knight. He must be here to protect the anchor.
Colt:
Meaning what?
Dulcea: We beat it, or it kills us.
Colt steps forward, morphing instantly.
Colt: OMEGA GOLD!
The others morph behind him.
Mia: OMEGA ORANGE!
Ule: OMEGA GREY!
Dais: OMEGA GREEN!
Dulcea: OMEGA SILVER!
Colt: Omega Rangers battle formation!
They charge. The Omega Rangers fight fiercely but The Stone Knight is on another level. Every hit they land reforms his body. Every strike he delivers sends one of them crashing into stone.
Colt: Fall Back!
Dais: Nothing's sticking! He's regenerating instantly!
Mia: We need a strategy!
Ule: Dulcea any ideas?!
Dulcea: He's too strong even with our powers.
Colt: Wait! This is a test!
Dulcea: One that we're about to fail!
Colt: Hear me out! The Will Anchor is supposed to channel raw energy what if we need to channel our Raw Energy as a team to beat him.
Dais: What do you suggest?
Colt: We have to move as one, distill this down to one singular voice, focus and move as one.
Mia: We're with you! Let's do this.
The Omega Rangers flip into action. Surrounding the stone knight.
Colt: Ule!
Ule takes the Stone Knights Sword
Colt: Mia! Dais!
Mia hits the Stone Knight with a flying kick on one side quckly by Dais' flying kick on the other side
Colt: Dulcea!
Dulcea hits the Stone Knight with her Hammer. Colt then takes out his Golden Sword and stabs the Stone Knight in the heart making him disappear. Then they see the Will Anchor (a small pendant in the shape of an anchor) at the top of a flight of stairs.
Colt: There it is!
Colt walks up the stars and grabs the anchor when a loud booming voice echoes through the room the voice of the ancient ones
Ancient Ones: Who dares defile out sacred Temple
Colt looks at Dulcea. Dulcea motions for Colt to keep talking.
Colt: Us sir we are the Omega Rangers.
Ancient Ones: Why are you here?!
Colt: We seek the Will Anchor.
Ancient Ones: What makes you worthy of such a thing.
Colt: I don't know if I'm worthy, what I do know is that my planet is in trouble. Ivan Ooze is Free and if we don't stop him he will destroy everything I love.
A giant white field forms around Colt as the spirits of the ancient one float around his body lifting him into the air. His eyes go white and his life begins to flash before his eyes.
Ancient Ones: We know you Colton Oliver. Your heroics on our planet were so many even we can hear the people singing them. To be Otherworldly and have the Omega Flame exist within you to risk your life to save your world...you are more than worthy.
Colt falls to the ground as he gets up the Will Anchor floats down and goes around Colts neck. He focuses the Omega Beam and explodes some rubble.
Colt: Thank You! Let's Go you guys!
Spaceship
Dais and Mia are flying the ship while Dulcea and Ule man other stations. Colt sits in a Capitan's Chair.
Colt: Mia. ETA
Mia: We should be back in about 30 minutes.
Colt: Reach out to Billy have him give me a call, I'll take it in my office
Mia: Will do.
Colt: I feel like we finally have some good news for a change. I just hope it's not too late.
